We are committed to making our tours as accessible as possible for all who wish to join us. We have provided information below about the potential access challenges of the standard route so that you can make a judgement as to whether they are suitable for you. We are always open to feedback on further adaptations we can make!

Navigating the Routes for Wheelchair Users and guests with limited mobility

(Steps, curbs, lifts, etc...)

• All tours cover approximately 1.5 miles at a moderate walking pace.

• All tours last between 1.5 and 2 hours.

• We will do our best to discuss any potential needs before the tour, but if at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsafe please don't hesitate to let your guide know and we will find alternative routes.

The Original Loo Tour Route

• The Tour begins at Waterloo Station, which has lift access from the Underground and mainline train stations. Street Access is via a ramp from Waterloo station road.

• The tour crosses the Jubilee/Hungerford Bridge which is accessible via lift from the South Bank & Embankment sides. Occasionally the Jubilee Bridge lift goes out of service due to bridge maintenance, which is unfortunately out of our control. In this case alternative routes may be taken. 

• The majority of this tour travels uphill at a gentle slope.
  
  

• The area between St Martin's Lane and Covent Garden has several steep drop curbs. We have had wheelchair users successfully navigate these before but they may not be suitable for everyone (and alternate routes can be taken).

• We cross two patches of cobbled terrain in Covent Garden.
  
  

• This tour finishes in the Covent Garden area, a 15 minute walk or short bus ride back to the starting point.

Support Workers & PAs

We are happy to provide free places to support workers & PAs. If you require an additional ticket please e-mail access@lootours.com with your booking reference and we will book an extra place for you.

Support Animals

We welcome trained support animals on all our tours.

Audio Description

We endeavour to keep our descriptions of each stop dynamic and informative. If you would benefit from additional audio description please feel free to e-mail us or speak to the guide at the start of the tour.

BSL Interpreters

Unfortunately we are generally unable to provide Sign Language Interpreters on tours. However, we are very happy to work with interpreters and to provide basic transcripts of the tour in advance where necessary.

Relaxed & Slower Paced Tours

For those who would benefit from more time or additional rest stops en-route we are happy to arrange low-cost private tours to enable you to have the fullest Loo Tours experience. Please contact us to discuss your access requirements and arrange a date.
